Hello, world

Somewhere tonight, someone is running an event off a spreadsheet, a cash tin and a mate on the door with a printed list. We built EasyEntry for that night.

Somewhere in Australia tonight, someone is running a trivia night off a spreadsheet, a cash tin, and a mate on the door with a printed list of names.

It works. It just works a lot harder than it needs to.

We built EasyEntry for that night — and for the school production, the club fundraiser, the winery long lunch, and the three-stage festival that outgrew all of it. You create an event, publish it, and start selling. Buyers get scannable tickets in their inbox within minutes. You check them in with the phone already in your pocket.

This is the first post here, so here’s the short version of what it does and what it costs.

Everything is included

There are no plans to compare. Nothing is locked behind an upgrade prompt, and there’s no better version of EasyEntry waiting for you to spend more. Your first event gets the same platform as your hundredth.

That means all of it:

  • Seats, sessions, and standing room. Reserved seating with sections, rows and tables, general admission, or the same event running four times a weekend.
  • Registration forms. Ask for dietary requirements, member numbers, t-shirt sizes — whatever you actually need — right at checkout.
  • Discounts and promo codes. Early birds, member rates, group deals, and staged releases to different audiences.
  • A box office in your hand. Sell tickets, merchandise and donations at the door, by card or cash, from a phone.
  • Check-in that keeps the queue moving. Scan QR codes or work from a door list, on whatever devices your volunteers brought with them.
  • Numbers while they matter. Sales and scans update as they happen, and everything exports to CSV or JSON when your treasurer asks.
  • Your team, properly. Individual logins with real roles — owner, admin, manager, box office, viewer — so nobody shares a password.
  • Embeds and an API. Put ticket buttons on your own site, or build against the same public API our own console runs on.

What it costs

Free events are free. A ticket priced at $0.00 carries no fee at all — not per ticket, not per order, not a percentage hiding somewhere. Run as many as you like.

Paid tickets carry one fee, in two parts:

Part Amount Paid by default by
Per ticket $0.50, or $0.15 on tickets $5.00 and under The buyer
Processing 2.5% of the transaction, all-inclusive The organiser

That 2.5% really is all-inclusive — card processing comes out of it, and there’s no second fee waiting at the bottom of the checkout. You can move either part, so if you’d rather absorb both and advertise a round number, you can. Foreign cards add 1%, always paid by the buyer.

No subscription, no setup fee, no contract, nothing to cancel. We only get paid when you do.

We built it for the phone

Almost nobody sits down at a desk to buy a ticket. They buy on a phone, usually in the ninety seconds between deciding to go and getting distracted by something else. If that ninety seconds is awkward, you lose the sale — so every screen a buyer touches was designed small first and widened from there.

Same story at the door. Check-in runs in a browser, so there’s no app to install and no hardware to hire.

Getting started

An account is free and takes about a minute. Build your event, look at it, change your mind, publish it — you don’t have to think about payments until you’re actually charging for something. When you are, connect your Stripe account and the money comes to you.

If you’ve got something coming up and want a hand setting it up, just ask. We would genuinely like to hear what you’re running.

What we’ll write here

What we’re building and why, the occasional honest note about fees, and practical things we learn from watching events run — seating plans that work, forms people actually finish, how to get four hundred people through a door without a queue down the street.

We’d rather post something useful now and then than something empty every week.

Thanks for reading. We’re glad you’re here.
