One picture was never enough for your event
Your event page can now hold three images. Keep your banner up front, then add the poster, the seating plan or last year's crowd.
Until now, an event page on EasyEntry had room for exactly one picture: a wide banner across the top. That’s fine if you’ve got a logo or a good photo of the venue. It’s not fine if you’ve got a festival poster, a lineup or a seating plan, because none of those fit in a long, thin strip.
So we’ve given you room for three.
What’s new
Your cover stays put. The first image is still your 1600×520 banner. It’s the one people see on event cards, in search results and when someone shares your event, so it keeps the same shape everywhere, and you crop it the same way you always have.
Two more, in whatever shape they come. The other two don’t need cropping. Upload a tall poster, a square flyer or a wide panorama and we’ll show all of it, with nothing chopped off. Anything from three times as tall to four times as wide is fine, as long as it’s at least 800 pixels on its longest side.
You pick the order. In the Appearance tab, drag the images around or use the arrow buttons to decide which one comes second and which comes third. The arrows work from the keyboard too. And if your browser has JavaScript switched off, you can still choose a position from a menu.
What your buyers see
Once an event has more than one image, the banner turns into a gallery. It moves on to the next image every five seconds, and a small dot for each image lets people know there’s more to look at. They can tap either side to go back or forward, swipe on their phone, or use the arrow keys.
If an image isn’t banner-shaped, it sits on a soft, blurred copy of itself. That keeps the page the same height the whole time, so the ticket button never jumps out from under someone’s thumb. Prefer the picture to fill the banner instead? Press Adjust on the image, choose Fill, and drag the dot to decide what stays in view. You’ll see how it looks on a desktop and on a phone before you save.
On the events list, hover over a card to peek at its other images, or swipe the card on your phone. Nothing moves until you do.
There’s a pause button next to the dots for anyone who’d rather it stayed still. And if someone has asked their phone or computer to cut down on motion, the gallery won’t move on its own at all. It only changes when they tap.
We made the pictures lighter, too. Every image you upload gets smaller copies for phones and event cards, so a big photo won’t slow the page down for someone on a train.
A few ideas
- Put the essentials on the cover: the name, the date and one strong image. It’s what people see before they decide to click.
- Use the second image for the things people lean in to read, like a lineup, a running order or a menu.
- Use the third to show the room. A seat map, the stage, or a photo from last year works well.
Like everything on EasyEntry, this is free. There’s no plan to upgrade to, so every event gets the gallery.
